Dry Needling

Back in Balance Chiropractic is now offering Dry Needling.

What is dry needling and how does it work?

Dry Needling is similar to acupuncture but instead of using meridians to find the points, the needles are inserted into myofascial trigger points. When the fine needle is inserted, it sends injury signals to the brain so that the body replaces the injured tissue with new healthy tissue. When the needle is inserted it often causes a twitch response. This twitch causes the muscle fibres to relax, inflammation is reduced and circulation is improved. As a result it is very useful for treating muscle and tendon conditions.
